Switching as a Countenance of Language Interference http://www.aitech.ac.jp/~iteslj/Articles/Skiba-CodeSwitching.html
from: The Internet TESL Journal,
Vol. III, No. 10, October 1997 http://www.aitech.ac.jp/~iteslj/
This is a very good
article which questions the notion of "language interference". Skiba argues
that rather than "language interference" bilingual " code switch" from
one language to another for functional reasons.

This is really a
multiple choice vocabulary-syntax quiz. You could easily develop something
similar that was pencil and paper, and linked, for example, to cohesive
features of a text.

This site is worth visiting.
It offers quizzes in traditional grammatical categories. Some of the quizzes
have been designed by students. You might find some interesting ideas for
constructing quizzes for a text-based functional grammar.
